چکیده

Zeta potential, effective diameter and sedimentation rate of TiO2 (Degussa P-25) suspension were studied in the presence of NaCl and anionic (sodium dodecyl sulfate, SDS) or cationic (dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide, DTAB; tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide, TTAB; and hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, CTAB) surfactant, as well as lecithin (1,2-dipalmitoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine, DPPC). In the experiments, the concentration of surfactants (lecithin) and pH of the solutions were varied. The results obtained show significant influence of the surfactants on the measured quantities. Depending on the concentration of the surfactants and pH, they stabilize or destabilize the suspension. The anionic SDS surfactant is more effective than the cationic ones used in the process of suspension stabilization/destabilization. At the concentrations used, lecithin (DPPC) affects the parameters only at natural (not regulated) pH of the suspension. At 5 mg dm it stabilizes TiO2 suspension while at 10 mg dm –3 some destabilizing effects appear relative to the DPPC-free suspension.

An Experimental Investigation of Reactive Absorption of Carbon Dioxide into an Aqueous NH3/H2O/NaOH Solution

In this research, the reactive absorption of carbon dioxide in an aqueous solution of NH3, H2O, and NaOH has experimentally been investigated. The experiments were carried out in an absorption pilot plant in different operational conditions. The composition and temperature of both gas and liquid phases were obtained during the column height. The concentration of molecular ...

Experimental Investigation of Reactive Absorption of Ammonia and Carbon Dioxide by Carbonated Ammonia Solution

In this work, reactive absorption of gases in aqueous electrolyte solutions has been investigated resulting in the development of a procedure in order to calculate the concentrations of ionic and molecular species in the liquid phase. Two duplicate experiments were conducted to investigate simultaneous reactive absorption of ammonia and carbon dioxide in partially carbonated ammonia solutio...

Effect of composition electrolyte on the morphology and photocatalytic activity of anodized titanium nanoporous

The morphology of titanium dioxide and titanium dioxide-tungsten trioxide nanocomposite films fabricated by anodizing in a glycerol solution containing 0.13 M NH4F and different quantity of Na2WO4 was investigated as a function of sodium tungstate concentrations. The effects of sodium tungstate concentration on the surface morphology were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). It was c...

Survey of Nitrate Removal Method from Aqueous Solutions Using Titanium Dioxide Nano-Photocatalyst

Background & objectives: Because of its very high solubility, nitrate penetrates easily into soil and underground waters. Surface waters such as lakes, reservoirs, and rivers are exposed to nitrate pollution. Photocatalytic processes have a high potential for nitrate removal due to complete oxidation, lack of formation of multi-cycle metabolites and the availability of catalysts. The purpose of...
